How to remove left side of page showing history,bookmarks

if you have the Sidebar button on your safari toolbar, just click it.

if you don't have that button, go to AppleMenu>Safari>View and choose "Hide Sidebar"

finally, if you want/need to add that button, go to Apple Menu>Safari View>Customize Toolbar and add it.

if you're asking for your iPad, there's a button that looks kind of like the iBooks icon that is between the < and > buttons and the URL bar on safari. just push it.
