If I purchased an unlocked iphone 12 max pro in China that has dual sim card capability, will it work in the US with US sim cards without any issues? In particular on the verizon network. I have 2 phones and want to combine them into one without using an esim.

It won't work on Verizon network, but it would work on TMobile or ATT&T.
Verizon is very strict on registering the phone on their network.
I do own such phone (iPhone XS Max from HK).
I am currently having my primary SIM from TMobile and Secondary from AT&T.
When I Travel I switch the 2nd SIM for the foreign one.

Not being worried about warranty support simply because you've never had a warranty or service issue is fine, but if you do need warranty or service support, you'll quickly learn that having an iPhone purchased in China will be a big issue for you in the US. I suppose all calculated risks.

We are just users on this user to user only forum. Unless someone has actually purchased a phone in China and tried to use two physical sim cards in their phone, you'll not get a definitive answer here. One would imagine your cellular provider should know whether your account can work with two sims in one phone.
Again, calculated risk if you buy your phone in China, expecting it do what you want in the US.
The warranty will only be valid in China.
I honestly don't care about the warranty as I've never had a warranty issue with any of my iphones (knocking on wood). I just need to know if it will work correctly.
