The iPad Air 2 is a 6-year old Apple iOS device.

It is possible that the internal battery is finally failing.

It looks as if an appointment and trip to your nearest Apple store is in order.

No iPad has any user serviceable parts.

If you attempt any internal, D I Y repairs of your iPad, you forfeit ANY future help from Apple/Apple Stores or this user community.

Trying to do a battery replacement in an iPad ( there are two seperate batteries electrically chained together ) are heavily taped/glued in and have finicky connections to dismantle.

If not removed carefully and replaced properly, battery expansion could ensue causing thermal runaway of the battery causing a fire.

Also, you need to be careful NOT to disconnected the Home button/touch ID sensor or you will lose the use of the touch ID feature of iOS as purposely or accidental disconnection of the iPad's Home button/Touch ID sensor will render the Touch ID sensor inoperative and useless without the use of a special reset procedure/code from Apple, which Apple itself does NOT supply to users or any unauthorised Apple device third party repair centers.

Use of any third party, unsupported, supposed iOS device repair centers can also void any future help from Apple/Apple Stores or these user communities.

That stated some qualified, unsupported iOS device repairs centers that are competent and have lots of knowledge of these devices at the logic board level maybe able to replace the internal batteries with a third party battery, but if these types of unauthorised third party Apple device service centers screw up your iPad, you are at the mercy of the third party repair center, now.

Apple will not fix any Apple device that has been tampered with by the user or an unauthorised or unqualified repaired center.

An iPad battery replacement from Apple is $99, plus tax, and if Apple determines that your iPad has a legitimate battery issue, Apple does not replace the battery, but does a refurbished iPad replacement of your exact iPad model and specs.
