Home button/touch ID.
Why did Apple take away the above mentioned from iPhone12?

You can let Apple know that it's something you'd like to see here:
Note that it appears that the reason they've removed a lot of things (e.g. dock connector, headphone jack) is space. I can't see them putting back anything that takes up space.
uhhh... because.... they wanted to... The home button and Touch ID have been gone a lot longer than just the iPhone 12... its been gone since the iPhone X... maybe you missed that... you know... 3 models back.
There's been speculation that they would add touch ID back to the iPhone 12, but either Apple wasn't ready for it, or it doesn't intend to do so. I really, really want that feature. Maybe iPhone 13 will have it.
Nobody has speculated that it would bring back the Home Button though. People want the screen to cover the whole face of the phone.
The only new Apple product with touch ID is the iPad Air.
Well, as I said earlier, this will be my first time to go an iPhone without these two important features. I will see how it goes about and I hope I might like it or not like it, not sure yet.
I just Pre Order iPhone 12 Pro Max which might be delivered in the first week of December. I must admit that I love large phone screens since I do almost everything ranging from emails to Banking, all on my cellphones for the past 14 years now.
thanks once again.

I moved from an iPhone 7+ to an iPhone 11 Pro late last year. Although I think I prefer Touch ID by a small margin, it's not really a big deal. I adjusted within a couple of days. Mask usage was original a bit of a problem however Apple updated FaceID a while back so that it recognized that you're masked and moves to the passcode entry screen very quickly. That was extremely helpful.
And, yes, I like Animoji.
QuickTime Kirk, thank you so much for responding to my dilemma. You are right that I have gone from Apple but have since hanged on to my iPhone 6 Plus and 6s to this day.
Thanks, Mr IdrisSeaBright, for that additional information. I appreciate that. I too, hopefully will adjust to that.
Home button/touch ID.
