Anyone had problems after updating to iOS 12.4.9? Have iPad Air currently using iOS 12.4.5. Concerned as advice says no going back if problems! I’m a 73year old so not very tech savvy!

My Mom is roughly the same age as you and has the same iPad Air 1 model.
I updated her 2013 iPad Air 1, via iTunes on a computer, with no issue.
This point update is a security update and these are needed security updates.
Your iPad Air 1 is a few point updates ( again security updates ) behind.
These iOS 12 point updates are really needed.
Should be no issues to this update.

Your iPad is already significantly behind the curve. iOS 12.4.9 includes significant security updates; update is strongly recommended.
currently using ios 12.4.5 on ipad air. wary about updating to 12.4.9. anyone had problems
