The option to limit how many days worth of mail to sync has disappeared.
I have checked settings>mail>accounts>mail>account>advanced
and it does not appear on any of those steps
only happened today after account kept asking me to input my passowrd and I had to delete it and reinstall it

I only have one account which permits mail days to sync (not all email accounts offer this feature) and it's still on my phone. I would recommend you contact the mail provider for guidance on their account.
Just found that if I re-add my email account under the Outlook option rather than a direct add just using the email address that the mail sync option still exists. Thanks for taking the time to reply
I only have one mail account as well - hotmail - and until today it also had this feature. Do you think it could be a hotmail issue then?

I believe Hotmail got rid of that capability a while ago, which you may not have seen until you reloaded the account. Apple can't change a mail accounts functions. You should contact them for a definitive answer.
