How to download updates on cellular?

I have an IPad Pro(9.7”) w/ sim card and an unlimited 4G plan. But I can’t figure out how to download updates..

I have no computer or wifi available.

So my ipad(that I paid extra for to get cellular) would actually work better if I removed that sim and put it in a 4G mobile router instead. Because it’s obviously not really about the quality or speed of the connection, but instead only about what type of connection it is.. This is not really a good solution... 🤦‍♂️
Public wifi’s I find are usually around 30mbits and my cellular 4G is usually around 80-100mbit.

Apple, please fix this!

There is nothing for Apple to fix, it has always been this way, since IOS 5 came out.

In order to update over the air, you need to connect to wifi not cellular data.

Are you saying that you have no friends or family that has wifi at home for you to connect to, to update your ipad?
