AirDrop Issues

Whenever I send a video through airdrop to my computer and open it in iMovie, it increases the brightness and ruins the quality of the video. I don't know why it does this, but I don't know how to fix it. Now, I have to upload videos to my google drive then download them on my Mac instead of just AirDropping them. Can someone please let me know why this is happening and how to fix it?

When I accept, I can't find the file on iCloud. I've had to resort to emailing myself to get my file. I have the current iOS and OS on my devices.
