Ipad Pro 10.5” with Thin Black Horizontal Line through Centre of screen after IOS 14.2 Update

I’m hoping this is a bug in the latest update or perhaps someone can suggest a solution. The thin black line through the centre appears to only occur when using Safari, no other apps. Also only when my finger is touching the screen to scroll, then it disappears within a couple of seconds, comes back again with a touch.

Then I began to further notice the black line only appeared on safari pages that contain comment boxes or where type could be entered. The placement of the line is exactly level to the top of the keyboard - now I can’t see it on my screen because I’m typing on the full size keyboard - so I tried reducing the keyboard size and when scrolling on a safari, then no black line appears. But that’s not a permanent solution as I don’t want to only use the small keyboard and otherwise the horizontal line coming and going is utterly annoying. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Definitely a Safari bug because I downloaded Firefox and am happy to notice there’s no horizontal line including when my keyboard is full size. I’d like to send in a bug report to Apple but I’m neither a developer or a beta tester. Gosh, why can’t Apple make their Feedback Assistant a little more user friendly? Regardless, if anyone else has this issue with an Ipad Pro my advice is use a different browser other than Safari.

I have the same issue on both my iPad Pro 11 and my iPhone. A black horizontal line., in addition things are freezing up all over the place. Very. Aggravations! Called apple support. They know this is a glitch on their side not exactly admitting it. Tried fire fox no black line. Apple support advised to reset my iPhone, I’m about to do that. But I would appreciate before apple does any updates in the future, they first check them out for glitches. Apple is not what it used to be. Very annoyed.

Thank you for the Firefox solution, just downloaded it and no black line. I spent a while screen sharing with apple support yesterday and sent bug reports in regarding Safari so hopefully they can get this sorted soon.........until then it looks like Firefox is the way to go! I am having exactly the same problem it is driving me mad! I am going to contact apple support later today so hopefully they get sort it soon. Stay safe!

I have the same issue on my iPhone with IOS14.2, actually it is a grey line, when zooming into a page in Safari it also gets bigger in horizontal length, in Firefox there is no issue when surfing. Sometimes the line disappears when scrolling up or down the page.

Thank you everyone! It’s reassuring to know this problem is indeed a Safari glitch and hopefully it’ll be resolved in a future update.
