I was just chatting with Appl the trouble shoote gone? I am locked out of my ICloud account and the tech at Apple asked me for a photo of the email saying I was locked out of my ICloud account- but now I do not know how to find that person o

I am locked out if my ICloud account and I believe that the email U received is from a hacker as I was hacked before and U do not want to open that email or answer it/ and I do not know how to send it to that chat person who was trying to help me! Please help me open up my iCloud account. The email is in today's emails and also in my photos the last item - can you see it?

Is that a screenshot of an email?

That looks like a very usual SCAM email:

  1. Apple will not email you about an issue with one of your accounts.
  2. Instead, if it finds a security issue, your account will be locked, for your security, and you will be so informed the next time you actually try to use that account.
  3. Apple will address you using the name they have on file for your account (the exception is for things like receipts for Apple Store purchases [not to be confused with App Store purchases]).
  4. Apple will not send an email to multiple email addresses.
  5. Apple will not give you such a time limit for correction! That is a Red Flag of a SCAM: it causes a sense of urgency, even panic, causing the recipient to make mistakes, to not be as careful as they should be!
  6. Apple will not place a button in such an email for your response.

If you double check the address the email is from, it is likely not an Apple.com address, though even that can be spoofed. (Looking at the raw email headers can show the actual “culprit”, but most users don’t know how to interpret such.)

Have you tried to use your Apple ID associated with your iCloud?

Even if you used that Apple ID to log into this site, you would have been informed if there was any real issue!

I’ve got about four decades of experience with many types of SCAMS, zinacef.

I admit, this is one of the better created Phishing emails I have seen, recently!

Never underestimate the motivations of the thieves!

Even if I get what fully looks like a legitimate email from one of my financial institutions, I never use any provided link, button, or phone number: I always go to my trusted avenue for access to said institution!

It’s simply a good habit to get into.

I wish more companies would be careful enough to never compromise their users by providing links, buttons, phone numbers, etc., within their electronic communications: it miss-trains their customers! It causes their customers to be more susceptible to such SCAMS!
