It is working pretty well. There are already native builds for ARM64. https://github.com/skwerner/blender/releases/tag/v2.91.0-mac-arm

Blender is working fine. I am using it on a base model MBA. There are already experimental ARM64 builds for Blender.

Rendering is a little faster and much quieter than on my Thinkpad with dedicated graphics. Eevee is working fine. Grease Pencil, too. Heavy scenes with 3-4 mill. of polys can be viewed easily. Head over to this thread on Blenderartists (https://blenderartists.org/t/mac-m1-and-blender/1264658/348) for more details.

Although I don’t have an M1 Mac, I’m pretty sure it works today thanks to Rosetta 2.

In any case, it looks like the Blender dev team is currently working on bringing Blender to the new architecture, as you can see here: https://developer.blender.org/T78710

Apple, if you are listening, it would be nice if you could join the Blender Development Fund. That would speed up things a lot! :)

Does anybody bought something with the new m1 and opened in eevee something? I am not woried that the default way of 3D view (2nd sphere in the viewport) is not working or that cycles will not work. I want to know if switching to eevee viewport (3rd option from left to right) if the computer can be used to do something. I do low poly or low detail stuff related to tourism and in 2019 i tried the new imacs that do not have intel gpu but only amd gpu. Eevee viewport did not work. (An intel gpu macbook air was giving me 20+ fps on a test scene and the imac without intel gpu, only amd was pushing 2 fps in the viewport, making working in Blender impossible)
