on my iPhone 12 why can’t I add someone to an existing text

If you do not see the Add Contact as shown in the link that sberman provided, then it would sound like there is someone that is using a non-iOS device, or you already have the maximum amount you can have in a group. How many people are there in the group?
There is no add button nothing but the lust of those on the text
It has to be an iMessage group text. If anyone in the group is a non-iOS user, you cannot add anyone else.
