Have you tried restarting your Mac to see if that helps? If so, let's test this issue in and out of safe mode. Safe mode will clear your system cache and attempt to repair any directory related issues. Start up your Mac in safe mode

If the issue continues after resetting your NVRAM you can isolate this further by booting into macOS Recovery, and see if the issue happens there. This can help tell you if the issue if hardware related.
