Apple Watch induced wrist pain and tenosynovitis

I encountered sharp wrist pain on my left hand last year and was diagnosed with De quervain’s tenosynovitis. The pain persisted for 3 months - but with medication, splint, exercises and rest (limited use of keyboard), the pain subsided. It became alright. I did not at first pay much attention to the fact that I also moved my Apple Watch Series 3 from left to right hand, after the episode. This year, I have started experiencing pain in my right hand - and to my surprise moving back to wearing the watch on left hand helped me recover. This seems more than coincidence. Is there any documented side effect of Apple Watch. Should I stop using it altogether? Will be a pity - considering how it is a part of my daily life.
