Display turns off if angle with keyboard is bigger than 90

Hi,

My Macbook Pro built-in display started to turning off once I moved the display to an angle bigger than 90 degrees in relation to the keyboard. The only way for it to turn on again is to shut off the laptop and open it again in an angle < 90.

The keyboard continues have the lights on when the display is on, suggesting that everything in the OS is still running as expected. If I connect the computer to an external monitor it works, but the builtin display continues to be off.

Any idea what could be happening?

Thanks in advance for the help.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15
