I am a senior with Apple iMac not sure how to upgrade my software to make it work properly

That is a 2015 27" 5K iMac with Retina display.


It can update to the current macOS 10.15 Catalina, and will be able to update to macOS 11.0 Big Sur tomorrow.


You can follow the steps in this link to see how to update to Catalina: link->How to upgrade to macOS Catalina - Apple Support


It should be a similar set of steps for Big Sur when its released tomorrow.
