How do I send files from my computer to my iPhone. Do I need to download an app before I can send these files

If your computer is a Windows PC you would need to install iCloud for Windows: Set up and use iCloud for Windows - Apple Support
Another option is the 3rd party app Dropbox which can be installed on an iPhone and on a computer. www.dropbox.com
