I want to make a slideshow that I can export to a memory stick and then play on a tv through a port on the tv. Also want to be able to click through the photos one at a time. Will the Photos slideshow do that?

If you have Catalina (Possibly earlier versions but I don't know them), then Photos can make the video, which looks exactly like the slide-show when you play it in photos.

With the slideshow open, click the "Export" button top right (next to the search bar). Select the format (High definition 1080), and save the file.

You can create one in iMovie, but it is much more hassle, and with less interesting transitions.

Here is one I made directly in Photos

Even if photos would your TV won't. It would have to understand Apples slideshow format.

The TV will only play a video (assuming your tv has the ability to play a video from a USB stick). Photos can export a slideshow to a video which you can put on a memory stick, and plug into your TV, but you'll only be able to play it, not click through it. Obviously you could Pause/Play on each photo

It is possible that if you put individual images (jpg files) on the memory stick - if your TV has a photo viewer app, then you might be able to click through that way.

Thank you very much. I watched your slideshow and it was beautiful. I especially liked the white frame around each photo which emphasized it while it was sitting on top of a stack of photos. The motion was excellent because I could see the entire photo while it was gently rotating—not a loss of part of the photo as I get when I apply the Ken Burns effect.

You’ve given me excellent information. I can now move ahead on my project.

P.S. I’m trying to say “Helpful” and/or “Solved My Problem” but it won’t let me. But you definitely were helpful and you solved my problem.
