.dmg files

I have a lenova pc , not a mac, and I'm having problems with it saying my 115GB drive is full. There is a lot of space being used that I can't explain, but WinDirStat did find 3.3GB of .dmg files. I understand that they are related to downloading apple programs, but I think the only one on my pc is Itunes, which I do use. Can you confirm that it is indeed safe to delete all of them and my Itunes will continue working fine. Thank you.

.dmg are disk image files, similar to .iso format in Windows. They are typically used to distribute Mac applications, and are therefore unlikely to be useful on your PC. Perhaps you have downloaded them in error while trying to install other software. Backup the files to an external drive if you're not certain how or why you came to have them and think there is even the slightest chance you might want them in future.
