Repair Status Delay

I have a 2016 Macbook Pro 13". I had a problem with the battery for long time ago and figure out it's a factory defected and it's qualified for the battery replacement program from Apple. I sent my Macbook to the Apple store and they took it for repair. They said it will take from 3-7 days at the max and now it's been 10 days and I didn't received it yet. The status still saying that it's still sending to the repair center. I call Apple and they said it's still at the repair store and they didn't provide me for any useful information.

I am loosing my job because I work remotely and it's the only working device I have. I would not give Apple my Macbook pro if I knew it will take that amount of time. So, who's fault is this if I loose my job? Why they said it will take 7 days at the max? Why they didn't say it might take longer than 7 days? I consider that nontransparent from Apple and it cause me lots of problems at my job.

This is not acceptable from Apple and I feel disappointed because of that. I need answer from Apple ASAP.

I'm having a similar issue. Took my laptop to the Apple Store Nov. 1 for a simple fix (keyboard). They didn't have the part; said they could either order the part and have me come back later or leave the computer with them and they'd ship it back to me. I voted to ship. Turns out they sent it to a repair center in TX (I'm in the SF Bay Area), and they haven't done anything with it. Apple Support tells me a different story every time, none of them helpful. Apple Store never told me it would be shipped somewhere else or that it would take this long.

Same, I was notified it would take around 3 days (be returned on Monday, it's now Friday. I was getting my battery replaced and keyboard replaced, which he said shouldn't take a long time but they would have to send it out since it's a 2017 model and they wouldn't have the stuff at the store. I've called Apple Support to check since my update is still showing it is needing to be ship still. They just said due to Covid, deliveries are delayed. So I really have no clue when it will come back to me as well.

Same with my laptop. Is not not acceptable that Apple is not updating the status. Mine needs a new battery which shoud take less than two hours to replace. Nobody told me it was going to be FedEx to some repair center. I am supposed to have it back on Tuesday, Apple person said 7 days, but today is day 5 and still shows 'Shipment to repair center pending'. I just want my laptop back. At this point I don't care if it has to be plugged all the time.

Same here, I need a screen replacement, went in on the 2nd and told I'd get it back by the 9th. More than a week later and still nothing, there wasn't even any update about the repair until I called. Wondering if there's anything we can do. I understand that everything is less than ideal but don't give false 1st or 2nd expected repair dates

i don’t know if this is related but I am having a similar issue with a brand new iPad that I had to send in for repair. They collected last Tuesday and no updates have been applied. I have spoken to Apple at least 5 times now and they tell me that there is a system issue preventing devices being booked in for repair and they have now estimate for how long it will be until they fix it. I wonder if this is affecting worldwide rather than just the UK

Same exact issue that I'm having. I sent in my 2019 Macbook 16" because of a coffee spill on 11/2/20 and they said it takes 3-7 days for repair but because of COVID it might take 7-10 days. My mac didn't arrive to the repair location until 11/10 and from there on, not a single update. On 11/25 I finally called Apple support and they said they're having issues with the repair center in Texas and there have been massive delays. Apple rep couldn't get a hold of anybody at the Texas location so they had to contact the Apple store that I bought it from. Luckily they were able to help and said since the repair went past 14 days without it being fixed I'm eligible for a NEW macbook (as long as I still cover for the keyboard replacement cost w/apple care). Now I have to wait for either me or the Apple Store that I bought it from to receive my old macbook for me to exchange it out. They said potentially a week to receive but it's been a week so I'm not expecting a call until next... Honestly so beyond ridiculous but give apple support a call and maybe you can get a brand new laptop out of it instead.

Everyone knows that COVID has caused countless delays but you'd think a corporation like Apple would be transparent about this. We all understand that it's hectic right now but we just want SOME sort of communication. I would have been so much more happy if they emailed me about this instead of waiting for me to contact them. Over a month without a laptop now and I can't fully do my remote job properly because of it. Soooo frustrating!!
