Apple IDentification

  1. My old iPad died.
  2. I bought a new one
  3. I went to sign in to my Apple ID on my new iPad and it sent the two factor verification code to my old iPad, which is dead
  4. I tapped the link saying I don’t have access to it.
  5. it texted my verification code to a phone number that is no longer active and cannot be activated.
  6. I could not log into my email address that my Apple ID is associated with.
  7. I contacted Apple Support and was walked through the process of getting a new phone number to be associated with my Apple ID.
  8. I checked in today and got confirmation that I can reset my password in 5 days and that a notification will be texted to my new phone number.

I don’t really need to reset the password to my account, I just need the verification code so I can verify my Apple ID on my new iPad.

My question is: If I go to log my Apple ID in on my new iPad will the verification code be sent to my new phone number?

I don’t really want to wait 5 days to be able to finish setting up my new iPad.

Thank you.

I guess I just have to wait it out. I finally got into my email address, but it doesn’t give an option to send the verification code to my email. It will only send it to my old phone number or to my old device.

I know my Apple ID password. I don’t need to reset my password or want to reset my password. But every time I go to log in it requires the six digit verification code which it wants to send to my dead iPad or my dead phone number. So I can’t log into my account to update my phone number or to update that my old device is dead. Is this really the only way to do that? I’m so frustrated!
