Personally I would wait a few day or even a week for the traffic to subside.
there was an issue with Apple mac server earlier and now that it is up everyone like you is trying to update at the same time, causing the server to be flooded.

That's nonsense. It isn't that it can't handle the load. It appears the issue is with specific installer software on the server end. Not a function of the load on the server but the actual contents being messed up. Do you think this is the first time a lot of folks have tried to download software from Apple or other companies en masse? The failure isn't a matter of bandwidth or load on the server; it's an immediate failure on the user side but not at all under the control of the user.

I am also facing the same issue here.
I'm getting the same error message. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm on wifi or connected to router, I just keep getting this message over and over again.
