how to temporarily disable an iPhone

Is there anyway to temporarily block one of my teenagers iPhones remotely. They don’t deserve the privilege of a cell phone that I pay for. I work out of town and am not able to physically take it away. I’d like to figure out how to disable it remotely. I can suspend the service, but it’ll still work on WiFi. Is there anyway to shut it down via Family Sharing?

No.

If you knew his Apple ID and password and if using 2FA have access to a trusted device, you could erase it. They would simply reactivate it and carry on.
