Unable to turn on Mail notification sounds

In Mail>Preferences>General, what Sound is chosen & is play other Mail Actions checked?

Same problem here, came here with google looking for a solution. ^^

In Mail>Preferences>General, I have 'New Messages Sound' selected and the box ticked for 'play sounds for other mail actions'. So I don't think that this is the problem.

I vaguely recall a way to set up email notification sounds for each specific email that I use, but can't seem to find it now. Any ideas on how to turn on the sound?

this is not the first instance I have seen in the Big Sur upgrade of this problem.

Definitely an issue for me. The sounds have just disappeared and nothing I do seems to bring them back.
