EPSON Stylus Photo 1400 not working in 11.0.1

I have just installed Big Sur, it seems working correctly but the EPSON Stylus Photo 1400 printer.

After the update the printer is no more present in Printers and Scanners, when I try to re add her I get this error message:

successful-ok-ignored-or-substituted-attributes

The printer used the default Epson driver automagically downloaded by Mac OS

My Samsung printer is still present and working, same for the EPSON Perfection V200 scanner.

Do there is a way to force remove the printer drivers and download them fresh?

Or any other solution?

Thank you for your help.

Digging trough the forum I discovered this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252035180

Printer Driver v10.33 for MacOS Catalina works fine in Big Sur!

Drivers are located here https://epson.com/Support/Printers/Single-Function-Inkjet-Printers/Epson-Stylus-Series/Epson-Stylus-Photo-1400/s/SPT_C11C655001?review-filter=macOS+10.15.x

Anyway, I never installed Epson printer driver via Epson site, each and any version of Mac OS up to Catalina downloaded them automagically from Apple when needed.

Hello,

If you have solved the problem already, please disregard this message.

According to https://www.epson.eu/viewcon/corporatesite/kb/index/1018:

"Compatibility details for Epson 1400

Your product is macOS Big Sur compatible. The product driver is available via the Epson support website.

Printer Driver: Please use v10.85 or later."

This driver cannot (yet) be found on the Epson Stylus Photo 1400 support page. However, a v10.85 driver appears in connection with a number of downloads for other printer models. Others have found that it is often possible to use a driver from another printer's support page. Just as an example, would the standalone Printer Driver v10.85 at https://epson.com/Support/Printers/All-In-Ones/XP-Series/Epson-XP-530/s/SPT_C11CE81201?review-filter=macOS+11.x#panel-drivers-2-2 possibly work?

Hi,

Thanks for your report.

Yes, (re)installing a v10.33 driver for Catalina appears to have been one solution in some cases when the 10.85 version has not been directly available from a certain printer's support page. Others have just downloded a file including the printer driver v10.85 for a different model, and it has worked.

Good to hear that your printer is working now.
