adapter cable vs AC plug?
Why does one use the adapter cable if you can just use the AC plug? What is the added value?

If you mean the following: Power Adapter Extension Cable - Apple , it's longer (i.e., an extension cord). It also is grounded (3 prong) while the power adapter without it is only 2 prong.
In spite of the above, I never use one but would if I needed a longer cord.
