Sophos and BigSur

Following upgrade to BigSur, Sophos keeps asking me to change Security & Privacy settings. I think I have followed the instructions but am unable to make it succeed. I am now being bombarded with Sophos warnings and am unable to open the Sophos console to try and solve it from there. I have attempted to uninstall Sophos but that is also a non-starter.

I'd appreciate any help with this issue, thanks.
