iPhone 12 mini touchscreen issues

I was also facing the same issue on the first day when I bought the phone. So, I also got afraid and frustrated. But someone told me to update the phone software. So, I did it, and yeah, the issue got resolved. So, basically issue is not in phone, it was in preinstalled software in iphone 12 mini.

I’ve learned, so far that this iPhone Pro Max is the worst phone I’ve ever had.

touch screen is spotty, SO annoying, at best.

the continual scrolling is infuriating.

If i were wealthy, I’d step on this till it’s dead.

We purchased two iPhone 12 minis last month. Mine works fine, but my wife’s touchscreen intermittently will not respond. We are updated to 14.4. Hers just has a case but no screen protector and she still sees this problem. It happens almost daily.

Exactly same happening with my iphone

if both the screen protector and cover is applied the touch begins to have issues and the lock screen flashlight and camera doesnt touchs properly....also there issue of unlocking the iphone when both are applied....

but if the screen protector or mobile case....any 1 is removed it works fine

I ended up doing a forced shut down of the phone; click volume up, click volume down, then click and hold the right side button. I also read in some forum about simply touching any metal part of the phone case as the problem was thought to be due to static (?).

I had to do the shut down once and it hasn't recurred. I had the latest iOS version when this happened.

Not true! I have the latest update, and it fixed NOTHING! Touch screen totally unreliable.

flipping back to top happens more than it doesn’t.

I keep getting “liquid detected” and can’t use my phone for hours because it won’t charge.

huge waste of money and time. By time, I mean taking it back to get it fixed. It never does get fixed.

We bought two iPhone 12 minis just a little over a month ago. Mine works fine, but my wife’s screen will not respond on a daily bases. iOS is up to date (14.4) She has no case or screen protector. I have done a forced restart. Problem still persists. It will take multiple touches to work, which I have documented on video. Seems to respond better to my touch than hers. We have had multiple iPhones over many years. This is first time she is seeing a problem of screen not reacting to her touch. Makes me wonder if the new ceramic shield decreases touch sensitivity?

Update your phone to IOS 14.4. Updating solved my problem. If you can't update right away hold your finger over the camera while you open the phone from the locked screen. That should work for you until you update the system. Also if you have a case and a screen protector on the phone, remove one or both and it should also solve the problem.

Wow.......disparaging someone for trying to help you is simply RUDE. No one here works for Apple. Everyone is a user just like you. If the help offered doesn't do anything for you, you don't need to disparage them.

That's a nasty response to someone who only tried to help you. I will reiterate that all those suggestion worked for me when I first had the problem with my iPnone 12 Mini. I wish you luck is your obstinance.

Nobody found that solution helpful. You are advising someone to remove their expensive screen protectors to solve a touchscreen issue and you legit think you're okay to do that! It is reckless advice and doesn't fix the issue which is post 14.4 people are still having sporadic touch issues. Don't comment on matters you can't help or regurgitate advice given back in November when the phones were released. Thanks, chocolate teapot.

I've been an Apple user since 1984. Made my living with Macs and participated in many, many forums. My good friend was a Apple forum leader. I have never experienced this kind of nastiness before. If you don't like the advice given ignore it don't belittle it..

Advice as given works for probably 99% of the mini phones. If you are the unlucky 1% you will not find an answer on this forum and you should go back to apple to replace your phone or get it repaired.

My iPhone 12 MIni wouldn't respond either until I put my finger on the lens. I had a case and a screen protector. I think there's a grounding issue that was solved with the software update 14.4.0. I know it doesn't sound right but there's some electrical issue for sure.
