iPad Air 2020: closing cover not putting iPad to sleep.

I have the lock/unlock setting enabled and am using an apple cover, but still my new iPad won’t go to sleep when I close the cover. Suggestions on how to fix?

IPad Pro won’t sleep when cover is closed. I’ve had the same cover for a while so I know the cover isn’t my problem. My iPad Pro ios13.3 will no longer sleep when the cover is closed. I noticed it was not staying charged like it should. Finally saw it was still on one night when the cover was closed. I’ve checked all the settings. The Lock/unlock is set correctly. I’ve switched it back and forth, did a hard reset but still won’t sleep when I close my cover. This is a recent issue. What’s up with this??

Ipad mini 6 I just purchased an ipad mini 6 and it will not go to sleep when the cover is closed. Yes the lock/unlock is turned on and its set to auto shut down in 5 mins but just will not shut off when you close the lid.

iPad 7th Generation Will Not Sleep When Magnetic Cover Closed - Fixed ! There is no "Lock/Unlock" setting under Display & Brightness. However, if the case does not send the iPad into sleep mode when closed, take the iPad out of the case, rotate it 180 degrees and put it back in the case. It aligns better and will now go into the sleep mode.

Being able to use the cover to put the iPad to sleep is a great feature. Be sure to take a look at the section in this article for "Wake and sleep your iPad" for adjustments.
