WhatsApp Badge count is showing more messages than I actually received? How to fix it

Hi, my WhatsApp suddenly started showing more badge count of the messages than I actually received. For example if if receive one WhatsApp message on badge count it shows as 10 messages. Tried to fix it but couldn’t find any solutions. Can anyone help me resolve this issue.. thankyou all.

Is there a way to keep the Whatsapp badge showing on the Whatsapp icon on an iphone when you've opened messages from one chat but there are still messages unread from other chats? Message badge My messages indicate I have “1” but when I open messages, nothing is there. I can’t get rid of the “1” or find the message. Any ideas?
