Setting up an ipad for the first time. Apparently I wrote down the apple id incorrectly and I did not write down the passcode. iTunes got me back into the iPad but without the Apple ID or passcode I'm pretty much up a creek without a paddle, HELP!!!

Apparently I wrote down the apple id incorrectly and I did not write down the passcode while setting up the iPad my son passed down to me. iTunes enabled me to get back into the ipad but without the apple id or pass code I can't do anything. I've tried every possible apple id configuration I can come up with on the "recover your apple id" tool but no luck. Can anyone help me?

Are you signed in somewhere in Settings that will show you the Apple ID?

See if you can recover the ID/password.

Apple ID - How to find your Apple An iCloud e-mail address is an Apple ID.

Apple ID - Find

For the Apple ID password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID and click Forgot Password.

Can't get to settings, currently at "activation lock" and it does not recognize my ID (at least what I thought my ID was) have used the "recover ID tool") with all the possible ID configurations that I can think of. Each requires the other. Trying to find the 2 year old receipt so that maybe Apple support will unlock it. Not sure if a computer shop can unlock it or not?
