airdrop not in Finder

I can't find airdrop in the lateral menu, where it is most convenient. I have to use the "go to " function and then it works. I have it in notifications, but it doesn't work there.

How can I remedy this?

iMac 27″, macOS 11.0

Open Finder > Preferences > Sidebar and make sure AirDrop is checked. If it is, try toggling it.
