Safari 14.0.1 File Selection button not working

I'm having the same problem. Upgraded to 14.0.1 with Mojave. Works just fine in Firefox. I'm still looking for a work around! Have you found one yet?

I should also mention that my husband is running Catalina and Safari 14.0.1. His file upload buttons work just fine.

Strange advise. Apples general advice from pretty much the beginning of Mac OS X (at least) is that you shall always run the latest available version. If it's only meant for Big Sur, the update would only be released for Big Sur. I think it's simply down to some silly bug that will hopefully be fixed. Mojave is still supported, so I see no reason they wouldn't address this.

I saw it before posting, but didn't wanted to deal with the hassle. Need my computer for work and didn't have the time to spend on reinstalls in order to get back a basic browser functionality. Does no one at Apple test this stuff before releasing?

Which version of Safari do you use now after the Mojave reinstall? I like the new things in 14, but this problem is annoying.

That is not a practical solution for those people who are unable to upgrade, or do not want to upgrade for whatever reason (hardware or software compatibilities, personal choice etc.)

Also, installing a whole new version of macOS just to fix one major bug with a single application seems a little extreme. Far better that Apple fix the problem they caused.

In the meantime, there are a couple of solutions to get back a functioning Safari v14.0 in this thread.

The 14.0.3 beta is currently only available to registered developers and AppleSeed testing program members. The final Safari 14.0.3 has not been publicly released yet. When it is no doubt it'll appear in the Software Update system preference pane for download.

Even the button to log in to forum discussion didn't work immediately so hard to find fix if Apple upgrade didn't even allow access to forum. !! will soon find out if 'post' button works without a fight ! LOL

same here. I am old and not very tech, honestly, they are not encouraging the use of Safari, every day they ask me to switch my home page to it , most definitely not after this :(

I have this problem too on my mackbook pro 2019. Highly inconvenient.

Apple solves this problem for a very long time. When will there be an update?

Feedback Assistant is not included in MacOS 10.4.6 !! It’s only in Catalina and Big Sur, which are not affected by this bug.
