SE battery life

I bought the SE about a week ago, which I love coming from a series 1. One thing that has been bugging me is the battery life. Out of the box with all factory settings in place, my watch has been getting at most 16 hrs of battery life before I have to charge. I ended up turning off many of the settings and I only have text notifications on and now it can last about 30 hrs max, that's if i rarely look at the watch.

My question is I noticed that overnight, it tends to drop about 20%, I don't use the sleep tracker. I have also put my watch on standby for about 14 hours and it went from 100% to 60%., with about only 2 text messages coming in. I understand that everyone uses their watch differently but I'm just curious if this is normal?

Hey there lazyalan,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're concerned about your battery performance. We're happy to provide some assistance.

With your particular model Watch, the built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery is designed to last up to 18 hours, but this can vary based on use, cellular coverage, configuration, and many other factors as outlined here: Apple Watch SE - Technical Specifications

With that being said, it sounds like your battery is working as it should. You can maximize your battery performance by following the steps under the "Tips for Apple Watch" section here: Maximizing Battery Life and Lifespan

We hope this helps.

Have a great day!
