New iPhone transferred everything except cellular service... how do I transfer my phone number over?

I got a new 12 pro max; was able to transfer everything over from my Xs max, except the cellular service is still on my old phone for some reason; didn’t transfer over. Reset from scratch and tried a second time but same issue... any ideas how to get my new phone to actually work as a phone?

Hi Doublemocha,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We understand you transferred over to a new iPhone 12 Pro Max but you're not seeing any cellular service, as it remains on your old phone. Congratulations on your new iPhone! We are happy to help.

Typically, if your carrier supports SIM cards, you would need to remove the SIM card from your previous iPhone and insert it into your new iPhone. The SIM card is what connects your device to your wireless carrier: Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

If you don't have a physical SIM card, you may need to reach out to your wireless carrier for more assistance with transferring your cellular service to your new device.

Best regards.
