Update iCloud payment

I have received a request to update iCloud payment (unable to process) on iPhone. Followed prompts to update payment, but cannot click on card image or on “edit”. Only shipping address is functional (it is correct). Removed and re-entered card in iWallet to no avail. Have been challenged to enter a texted verification code and have received information that someone is trying to log from a location five hours away. Am I being hacked from within the Apple system some how?
