can't install Big Sur

Why won't Big Sur install on my Mac. I keep getting installation failed messages. any help?? Thanks

iMac 21.5″ 4K, macOS 10.15

Hello JWR52 and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty installing Big Sur.

Start by going to the Applications folder. In that, you should see the Big Sur installer. Drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash, reboot the Mac and try again with a fresh download.
