I just bought a new iPad 10.2 for school purposes but it doesn’t work for my school website. I was wondering if I was able to trade in the iPad and then use that towards a Mac laptop

If you purchased directly from Apple, the normal return policy is 14 days or if you bought it after November 10 you can return it up until January 8 under the holiday return policy. In both cases that is for a full refund. See information in Returns & Refunds - Shopping Help - Apple
