After Big Sur install, Mcafee Internet Security started throwing this message every. few. minutes, and it (un)helpfully opens Security & Privacy options. I've switched between the two "allow" options - the message always returns. Even if I delete Mcafee, it continues to pop-up.

Did you uninstall it according to its instructions?
Using the terminal window and running the comman that Mcafee provides gives "command not found" so all I can do is move to trash EDIT" found the uninstall app and used that. Seems to be gone. Any idea why this is happening?
If you used its uninstaller app, and the message is gone, then I would conclude the uninstaller was effective. That's unusual among junk products like "McAfee", so consider yourself fortunate. At least one similarly categorized product proved impossible for me to remove and I had to erase the Mac to eliminate it.
