What happened to the photos in my iPhoto when I updated to the Catalina. I understand 32 bit Apps are no longer supported in the new 64 bit Apps, but where did the photos go that were in that App?

They're in Photos Library.

Nowhere, they are still in your library. Launch Photos (the replacement for iPhoto) with the option key held down. From the resulting dialog, choose your iPhoto Library. Photos will create a new library from your iPhoto media. Your iPhoto library will not be changed, but it will be renamed.
What do you mean ‘with the option key held down’? Launch? Double click?
Press down the option key and single-click the Photos icon in the dock.
