I’m using an IPad with a Targus keyboard. Out of the blue, the space bar doesn’t operate correctly in Pages or Numbers. Any quick fix for this? The keyboard is only a couple months old. Thanks!
Try this
Settings >Accessibility > Keyboards > full Keyboard Access > commands
remove “space bar” from the “activate” field.

Tom Gewecke, you are my HERO!!! Your "fix" worked!! I want you to know I was online with Targus support for 45 minutes (they blamed Apple) and Apple for an hour and neither of them could help!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!! I'll be a reference for you if you're applying for an IT job!!! LOL
That is sad! It's their product! They kept trying to tell me it was dust under the space bar! I told them it must be some pretty intelligent dust to know to not work only when using certain programs (like pages and numbers) but not others! SMH

It's sad their support folks could not help you. This problem has been handled here dozens of times since at least last May
