Bought a MacBook Air, can I still get the free AirPods?

I bought a MacBook Air online with the intention of getting AirPods free. can I still get them? I made an order before the 28th and a lady that helped me once to choice a Mac she told me that if I get a laptop before the 28th of September I would get free AirPods.
