Sorry, but this will not be possible to do on such an older iPad model.

Office 365 for iOS and all individual MS Office apps for iOS requires iPadOS 13 and greater, now, which your 2013 iPad Air is incapable of upgrading to due to underpowered internal hardware.

Sorry, but your iPad is over 7-years old and is too old, now.

If you need/want updated apps, then you to seriously consider a new iPad model of a “newer” , used iPad model capable of running the latest iPadOS 14 versions.

There are plenty of newer, older iPad models that can run the current iPadOS 14.

There isn’t a Microsoft Office App for iPad. There is an Office App for iPhone, however, this is a very cut-down single-install version of Microsoft’s core Productivity Apps.

For iPad, you can download and install the individual Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and similar Apps from the Apple App Store. The Apps themselves are free to download - however, their functionality is extremely limited unless you have an active Office 365 Subscription.

From the Apple App Store, just search for Microsoft; you’ll find all the MS Apps.
