the Clock App which comes pre-installed on the iPhone has disappeared I use this as my alarm clock every morning and really want it back. Can anyone let me know how to re-install this app or do I need to download it again from the app store and if so, which one is it as there are hundreds of clock apps.

To clarify, the native pre-installed Clock app cannot be deleted or uninstalled.
So it might have accidentally have gotten moved around from its original location or was moved into the App Library (a new feature on iOS 14), as SravanKra has already mentioned.
Using the Search feature on your iPhone you can find the Clock app and be re-assured that it has not disappeared.
