Just got the new 2020 iPad Pro and it won’t send or receive text messages from non Apple devices.....my 2017 iPad Pro works just fine.....what could be causing this?.....I checked iMessage settings and they are the same on both devices

On the paired iPhone, check that the new iPad is turned on in Settings->Messages->Text Message Forwarding.
