Loud Fan blowing

I just updated my computer with the MacOS big sur, and whenever I use it it makes this loud fan noise. The noise it makes when it overheats. Is there anything I can do to make it stop? I have tried to shut it down and do the option + command + shift, and none of it worked.

I had this problem for about a week after the update. Now it has disappeared without any intervention from me. I'm guessing that there was some kind of massive data transfer that was going on in the background that took multiple hours after the update.

In any event, I am now a happy camper (until something goes wrong again).

It would have been helpful to have some sort of notice from Apple on what fallout to expect with the update as I'm sure they tested Big Sur on multiple Apple devices, right?
