HomePod Mini and Catalina

So, I have my new HomePod Mini. It's set up and works as expected (I already have two HomePods so knew what to expect), however despite showing up automatically on the Home app on all of my family's iPhones and iPads it is missing from the Home app on my iMac and everything I've tried from killing the app to rebooting my iMac have failed to make it appear.

Sadly my iMac is just a little too old (late 2013) to try an upgrade to Big Sur so that's not an option.

I'm wondering at this point if it's just me or if others are seeing this too... and hoping that if it's not just me that a software update might be coming soon (not like my other current problems where I can't use my HP printers any more or install the GarageBand update that is showing up in my App Store but that's for other threads!!!)

I called Apple support and was told that HomePod Mini is not compatible with Catalina. No joke. I told her I didn't believe her and wanted a 2nd opinion. Then I talked to someone else who had no idea what she was doing. I've been telling everyone I'm stupefied that Apple has made the new HomePod incompatible with the 2nd most recent os version. But I'm still hoping this is just a bug. C'mon 14.2.1

I have the same issue too. At first I thought it was because I forget to turn on the iCloud Keychain and then I tried power cycling the HomePod and setup everything from scratch again. Still didn't see the HomePod mini on my home app running on Catalina.

I am surprised that it is not supported when Catalina is still the n-1 version of the current OS. Unfortunately my MacBook has been cut off from the upgrade to Big Sur.

At least I don't need to waste more time on troubleshooting this problem.

Yes, I am having that issue as well. I am HOPING this is just a bug in need of a fix. Otherwise, that is rather poor planning on Apple's part. The Home app MUST by nature have a level of universality due to what it does. Hope Apple has a fix!

I too have an iMac that is late 2013 running latest version of Catalina. Fortunately I have a MacBook Air that is Big Sur and it see the mini like my iPhone.

Even Home on Catalina can't see the mini the speaker drop down does for AirPlay. As my Mini is setup as a pair that room will appear twice on the drop down, one for Left the other for Right. It will not play as stereo via AirPlay via Catalina only.

Good grief! I just spent an hour trying to figure out why my new Homepod Mini isn't showing up on one of my iMacs. It's a 2013 model running Catalina (2013 models won't upgrade beyond Catalina). I decided to Google it and sure enough here we are.

I just bought a new 2020 iMac and am in the process of setting it up so i opened Home on that machine and sure enough, the HomePod Mini is there.

Unbelievable Apple would let everything else show up in Home but for no reason at all, not allow the HomePod mini to show up there.

Now I just need it to stop falling off my network connection.
