Heat Heat Heat, After BigSur

I recently updated my MacBook Air 2017 to MacOS 11.0.1 (Big Sur) but since updating my Air, it started getting heated up really fast, while on Catalina, this sort of heating never happened!

Any Suggestions or Possible Ways to Fix this??

Honestly this is my everyday work/school laptop and I couldn’t have waited any longer because I needed to work so I just contacted apple to have them walk me through restoring back to catalina. The lady said there’s a major battery flaw within the new update just because it’s brand new and they can’t always control how much drainage it has at first. She said to wait until a bug update comes out at least.

I am currently running Big Sur on a 2014 MacBook Air with just 4GB RAM. This Air has been running now for over four hours and it is faintly warm. All I am running is the Firefox 83 browser with three open tabs.

For your Air to be overheating with Big Sur, you would have to be running something taxing the CPU, GPU, or both for an extended period of time, such as running a Virtual Machine in too little RAM, or a game. What are you doing on that Mac to heat it up?

I have the same issue with 2019 Mac Book Air. My friend have same machine also face same heating issue with Big Sur and finding hard time getting it resolved. After visiting store for repair and making sure there are no hardware issue, it looks like issue with Big Sur running weirdly. He got old version of Mac Book OS installed as a solution. (I feel like it is like a strategy to make way for M1 chip Mac Book models). The RAM usage is so high and my keyboards are too hot after Big Sur. I can't even browse casually like before or use Microsoft Word or excel like before with the new OS. Apple need to fix the issue!
