how do I delete items on launchpad?

How do I delete items on launchpad? I have DVD player on my launch pad and I have no way to use it. it is taking up space and I want to delete it. Thanks.

If they say you can't, you probably can't without mucking about in the terminal, something I don't recommend unless you're knowledgable. Anyway, it takes up a very small amount of space.

I am trying to delete DVD player on launchpad but can't. I have no use for it and it is taking up space.

You still haven't answered my question. Are you saying that you deleted the application and it's still showing in Launchpad?

Or, are you asking how to delete an application?
