macOS Big Sur sluggish on 16" 2019 MacBook Pro

Big Sur looks great but the overall feel is that it is quite sluggish. Notably when typing text within apps, there appears to be a slight delay, lag. Opening apps and just general navigation within the OS just feels like there is some kind of application (like a game) running in the background.

Best way to describe it is when you have a game running in background (something as resource hungry like World of Warcraft for example) then shrink the game and use the OS, you would notice it to be quite sluggish.

The sluggish feeling is happening with no apps or games running in background. Checked Activity Monitor, nothing using CPU etc. Opening Messages app takes 2-3 seconds to actually open.

Do we put this down to a .0 release of a new OS and hope that a future update to Big Sur, .1 or .2 release will fix this?

Brand new 16" 2019 MacBook Pro all specced out. Seems like software issue, buggy etc.

Anyone else notice this sluggish feeling with Big Sur? Catalina, my machine purred along just fine.
